Dredging

Overview

The vessel “FULL ALWAYS” underwent a comprehensive drydocking at our facility, starting on November 5th, 2023, and concluding on November 12th, 2023. This project involved an extensive range of activities aimed at maintaining and enhancing the vessel’s performance and longevity. Below is an overview of the key activities and processes executed during this period

Hull Maintenance and Preparation

Hull Scraping

The hull was scraped from the waterline to the keel, covering an area of 537 m². This initial step removed accumulated marine growth and old paint, providing a clean surface for subsequent treatments

Pressure Washing

The hull was thoroughly pressure washed from bulwarks to keel (883 m²) to ensure all debris and contaminants were removed, facilitating effective sandblasting and painting

NDT Testing

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) was conducted with 300 shots to detect any internal defects or weaknesses in the hull without causing damage

Sandblasting

The hull received a thorough sandblasting from bulwarks to keel using the SA 2.5 method (833 m²), which removed rust and prepared the surface for painting

Painting and Coatings

Primer Application

A first coat of primer was applied from bulwarks to keel to protect the hull from corrosion. A second coat of primer was sprayed from the waterline to the keel for enhanced protection and better paint adhesion

Painting:

The vessel was painted with white paint from the waterline to the bulwarks, utilizing owner-provided paint. Antifouling paint was applied from the waterline to the keel to prevent marine growth. Additionally, the vessel’s name was painted at three locations, a 3ft band was applied around the vessel, and numbering was painted on both the port and starboard sides. Draught marks and the waterline were also repainted

Marine Fittings and Mechanical Work

Sea Chest Maintenance

Sea chest grills were uninstalled, cleaned, and painted. Sea chest valves (4 on portside and 5 on starboard side) were uninstalled, serviced, painted, and reinstalled

Welding and Fabrication

Steel Plate Installation

Various steel plates were applied to reinforce the hull. This included plates of different dimensions, such as 8 x 6 inches, 21 x 31 inches, and 12 x 12 inches. A total of 608.74 kg of steel materials were used

Client Testimonial

“The hull of the vessel underwent ultrasonic testing by an approved surveyor. This non-destructive testing method was used to assess the thickness and integrity of the hull plating, ensuring that the vessel met all safety and regulatory standards.”
